Entrepreneurship workshop for PhD students
Are you a PhD student who wants to boost your research impact? Then join us for an engaging entrepreneurship workshop, discover the exciting world of entrepreneurship, and gain 2 ECTS credits.
Throughout the workshop, you will learn about:

Full programme:
Credits: 2 ECTS will be awarded to students who participate in seminars, group work, and the final pitch.
Delivery mode: Online via MS Teams.
Study areas: PhD students from all study programmes are welcome.

Sustainable Solutions Pre-Accelerator

Duration and topics
Each Pre-Accelerator runs for eight weeks. In-person theory sessions are held once a week in Saulėtekis, while groups organise their practical work according to their own schedules.

Sustainable Solutions Pre-Accelerator: Autumn 2024
The inaugural Sustainable Solutions Pre-Accelerator took place from 23 October to 11 December 2024. Eight sustainable business ideas were developed during the programme:
Green Vision – a bioremediation solution for cities and their residents
Verdant Fiber – the production of textiles from hemp fibre
Introverse – a solution designed to help introverts socialise
Another GO – a platform for exchanging and selling used electronic devices
Gėris tau – a platform for good deeds
ReSTEM – a platform promoting sustainability in research
a digital solution for translating medical terminology into Lithuanian
Gaivis – an interactive app aimed at preventing e-cigarette use among school pupils
Sustainable Solutions Pre-Accelerator: Spring 2025
The second Sustainable Solutions Pre-Accelerator took place from 5 March to 16 April 2025. Five sustainable business ideas were developed during the programme:
CreoGame – an app for board game enthusiasts
a solution for organic and more environmentally friendly fertilisers
Nodus – multiple dietary supplements combined in a single pill
piezoelectric tiles that efficiently generate energy from movement in their surroundings
SafeTech – a solution for sorting and recycling Teflon-coated syringes
Sustainable Solutions Pre-Accelerator: Autumn 2025
The third Sustainable Solutions Pre-Accelerator took place from 8 October to 26 November 2025. The following sustainable business ideas were developed during the programme:
BURTI – a platform that uses community engagement and gamification to help young people develop healthy habits
Retextile Solutions – a system for collecting and recycling used textiles to give them a second life
EcoForma – a system of composting units designed to make organic waste disposal easier and more convenient
About the project
Description. This pre-accelerator programme is a dynamic series of practice-oriented seminars and creative workshops that will equip VU students with the knowledge, skills, and resources to build businesses based on sustainable innovations and solutions, thereby contributing to the green transition and sustainable economic development.
Problem addressed. The project seeks to build and strengthen the entrepreneurial skills of VU students, with a focus on sustainable business and the development of sustainable solutions, while harnessing the interdisciplinary potential of the University community.
Project aim. To develop and implement Sustainable Solutions Pre-Accelerators at Vilnius University that provides students with the knowledge, skills, and resources they need to turn sustainable innovations and solutions into viable businesses.
Activities. Pre-accelerator sessions are organised to coincide with the University’s academic semesters.
Expected outcomes. The programme aims to enable students who complete it to develop businesses underpinned by sustainable innovations.
The Sustainable Solutions Pre-Accelerator is implemented as part of the project ‘Development and Implementation of the Vilnius University Sustainable Solutions Pre-Accelerator’ and is funded by the European Union.
